GDI-SF115 "Air Wars"

Before I started drawing anime, or ANYTHING for that matter, it all started with airplanes. (That was when I was four-years old - my works still didn't have the shine we know today back then of course.) I wanted to give this painting a somewhat dusty and atmospheric look.

*Good guys use craft with blue trails. The city belongs to them and so do the rising missiles. (launched to attack the pursuing enemy fleet on-orbit)
*Bad guys use craft with orange trails and own the missiles heading down. (launched to extinguish all resistance in the surface) One of the good guy ships above the "staircase clouds" were unfortunately hit and is now falling down the sky.

Bad guys are winning at the moment.

For some reason, the more I try to paint "realistically", the more I also lose my finesse in anime artwork...

Bonus sidenote: anyone notice the logo on one of the aircraft's wings?
