SP-AHRG Singleplayer Map

"You don't need a high tech game engine with extended graphics features and nick-nacks just to make something look good."

Those were the thoughts that swayed in my head while I built this level. Completely realized but unreleased, this singleplayer map was to be one of my best work for ye good ol' Unreal Tournament '99, based on the original iteration of Unreal Engine. (not UDK) A singleplayer map that demonstrated all that I had learned from my years of staying within the bounds of the community. For this map I wanted to nail three things together in tandem - 'architexture', visuals, and atmosphere. The three stepping stones of immersion.

All assets and constructs are entirely custom with only the weapons, albeit drastically modified versions via script from various mods, being directly lifted from the original UT. The map was put on hold after an issue regarding gameplay (pickup distribution for the hardy ones) was never ironed out but the map still sees a prospect of release in the near future (with or without the problem) - just not the immediate future.

---

Now for the map itself - roughly one month of construction for a thirty-minute long mayhem... inside a convention center. Now why go gun-totting in a convention center? (Closer look should reveal something even more peculiar.) The story behind the level is a parody of Internet culture exaggerated beyond belief to the extent of having large evil pointless armies with lost causes and curious representations of major bodies of Internet culture - beyond that, it shall not be revealed (even the map's nomenclature of an acronym). :D This map was to see an extremely limited release due to evident reasons at the time of its announcement.

This looks like a cool map that UT99 NEEDS!
